Mythbusters

Change. Even the word can bring forth a flood of emotions- both good and bad. I would care to guess, however, that most of us fall somewhere on the “dislike” side of the scale. I know I’m guilty of that….although I never would have admitted it before.
I always thought I loved change. I love the different season changes (although Fall is still my absolute fav!).

And if you ask my family, I have a hard time not changing around the furniture constantly! I love the freshness and newness that change can bring. But, as I get older, I have realized that, even though I may like the change of some things, there are always aspects that I struggle with to let go.

That’s really the driving point, right? Control. And when we don’t have it, we dig in our heels and fight with everything we have to get it back.

Here’s the kicker though…..

We never had control to begin with.

Oh…we THINK we do. We buy into the illusion that the enemy so intricately portrays: that we can be like God. Sound familiar? Well it should. It was the original lie that Satan used to manipulate Eve into eating the fruit.

And it’s the same lie he continues to use to manipulate all of humanity.

So, how do we combat it?

With truth.

When we live with a posture of surrender, that illusion is unveiled. And when we find that we slip back into the lie of control, we need to step back, refocus, and surrender. When we live our lives with the attitude and knowledge that God is ultimately in control and we are simply here to glorify Him in everything we do, that changes the way we handle the tough things that get thrown in our way.

It’s not always easy- and believe me- it’s so hard to do. But praise God we have a Savior who didn’t leave us in our own mess. He came and rescued us, and then gave us His Spirit that lives INSIDE of those who have surrendered their lives to Him.

GUYS, there is NO greater gift and power than that! So, let’s tap into the power we’ve been given and live fully surrendered lives that glorify Him!

This is the theme for our upcoming conference. We will be addressing different lies that the enemy uses to distract us from truth. We will learn how to recognize the lies, and how to combat them with truth. We hope you can join us this year and that God will scrape the scales from our eyes and ears, and replace it with the truth of His Word!! Stay tuned for more details!
